Livogen-XT consists of Folic Acid, Iron, Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate.
Folic Acid - A member of the vitamin B family that stimulates the hematopoietic system. It is present in the liver and kidney and is found in mushrooms, spinach, yeast, green leaves, and grasses (poaceae). Livogen-XT (Folic Acid) is used in the treatment and prevention of folate deficiencies and megaloblastic anemia.
Indication: For treatment of Livogen-XT (Folic Acid) deficiency, megaloblastic anemia and in anemias of nutritional supplements, pregnancy, infancy, or childhood.
Livogen-XT (Folic Acid), a water-soluble B-complex vitamin, is found in foods such as liver, kidneys, yeast, and leafy, green vegetables. Livogen-XT (Folic Acid) is used to diagnose folate deficiency and to treat topical sprue and megaloblastic and macrocytic anemias, hematologic complications resulting from a deficiency in folic acid.
Iron - A metallic element found in certain minerals, in nearly all soils, and in mineral waters. It is an essential constituent of hemoglobin, cytochrome, and other components of respiratory enzyme systems. Its chief functions are in the transport of oxygen to tissue (hemoglobin) and in cellular oxidation mechanisms. Depletion of Livogen-XT (Iron) stores may result in iron-deficiency anemia. Livogen-XT (Iron) is used to build up the blood in anemia.
Indication: Used in preventing and treating iron-deficiency anemia.
The major activity of supplemental Livogen-XT (Iron) is in the prevention and treatment of Livogen-XT (Iron) deficiency anemia. Livogen-XT (Iron) has putative immune-enhancing, anticarcinogenic and cognition-enhancing activities.
Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate - A metallic element of atomic number 30 and atomic weight 65.38. It is a necessary trace element in the diet, forming an essential part of many enzymes, and playing an important role in protein synthesis and in cell division. Livogen-XT (Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate) deficiency is associated with anemia, short stature, hypogonadism, impaired wound healing, and geophagia. It is known by the symbol Zn.
